REPORT CARD DAY--

And there is '2' report cards for Sundays--
one is the 'time' card--
And here is how I keep track of my stitching time--
in this little 'sexy' note book--
someone gifted me this a while ago--
and I had been just  'waiting' for the right time to use it--
this is my 'spread sheet'!!!

And now for this weeks actual report card--

**** Days stitched this week--7 days
**** Days stitched this month--27 days
**Total Days this year--27 days
**Total hours this week--4 3/4 hours
** Total hours this year--20 hours

as I said yesterday--I did finish hand quilting the Snowbound Quilt--
I am now working on this one--a new one-

********************************
and now for the Second report card--
on --
I did get some time in today on my counted cross stitching--
and did reach my goal on these today--
I can now say that I am at the half way part on this--I believe!!!
I should really be trying to get some stitching time on this piece during the week too--
not just on Sundays--we will see how this next week goes?????

And--
I have put another 'animal' to work--
My lamb magnet needle holder--
I have lots of needles with different colored threads on them for this stitchery--
got tired of changing the colors on just one needle and remembered this Lamb--
so he stays nicely on the pole to my floor lamp--
And yep I am drinking on the job--
Pure spring water!!!
Have a great week stitching everyone!!

ARE YOU READY???

For the big finish???
for my OMG project for January!!
Here we are in all our glory!!!
Yep my goal was to finish this quilt--Snowbound--

I started this quilt back in 2009 in a bom of the month club--
from Bunny Hill--
I believe I kept up with the blocks each month--
but then it was a few years later before I got them into a top form--
and I hung onto the border fabric all that time--
it is a Bunny Hill fabric and has the cutest little houses on it-
Can you see them???
I added up some time I have in this quilt--
*****hand quilting hours--19 hours (all during the month of Jan 2018)
*****sewing snowflakes to the upper area of each block--2 1/2 hours
****Binding--2 1/2 hours
**** sewing on all the decorative buttons--2 hours--
** and then there was all the applique of each block
**the sewing the top together time
***and the basting of the batting, backing, and top--
so I figure I have at least 50 hours of work in this quilt--
So now on to the next hand quilting project---
It is  hanging in on my living room wall right now!!!

And hanging in the little foyer now I have this one--
This one is from Hatched and Patched and was also a bom project!

OH LOOK--THE FAIRIES WERE--

fairies are hard at work today--
I do believe they have the Snowman quilt there--
and they are sewing on the binding--
which means--
that the hand quilting is all done--
but there is still some work to do once the binding is sewn on--
they are getting there though!!!!!

and now all 4 rows of the row by row, wool bom are all--
basted--so that was another good job done today--

and now they have to decide on--
which stencil they want to hand quilt onto this little quilt-
as they are committed to 30 minutes of hand quilting each day--
so this will be their next project!!!

So what did your "fairies" do today????

TODAY WAS NATIONAL 'PIE' DAY--

And this time I got it right--
DD took me and Frannie out for Pie
before she took us grocery shopping late this afternoon--
DD and I had Chocolate -Peanut Butter--
And Frannie has coconut creme--

Now if I had been back in NY and was at my old eating place--
Mr Chicken's (that is no longer there!!!)
this is what I would of had--
But so far down here it is more of a Lemon Creme pie--
and it is just not the same--
soooo--I had my next favorite the chocolate/peanut butter--
so now I will have to walk the halls alllll night to work off that slice of pie--
No--walking the grocery aisles was not enough exercise for that slice of pie!!

I did get 2 quilts hand basted today--
and I did get in my hand quilting time--
so all is good on the sewing front--

Soooo--
Did you celebrate National Pie Day????
And what kind of pie did you have???
What is your favorite flavor of pie????

MONDAY --STILL BLUE!!

I am working on doing some more small civil war quilts--
so worked on building a bit of a stash--
and am following this gal--
Kathleen Tracy again--
Remember I did the flower block a couple weeks ago in applique as part
of her new mystery quilt--
and then she is also picking out one quilt from this book each month for us to make--
this months is this one--
with the thinking that we could do it in pink/reds for Valentine day--
but I have decided to do mine with whatever the 'color' is for the month--
so  here is my top--
all done up in blues!!!
this will be about 15 1/2" square when done--
this is ready for batting and backing and basting--
maybe tomorrow!!!????

And I finally --after nearly 3 weeks--

had to turn the air conditioning on today--
as this was just not enough --
Wonder how long this nice 'heat' wave is to last????

Seen this photo on my knitting site--
someone needs to get this poor 'box' kitty a bigger box!!!

SUNDAY'S ARE SUPPOSE TO BE--

Quite relaxing time--
but--
Not today for me--
I was kinda stressed--
as I did not get any counted cross stitching done this week--
so today I wanted to at least get the house in--
which after some froggin along the way--
I did get it done--
so I do have some progress for --
And Kathy also gave us a challenge this week-
in the photography area--
with--
what kinds of hoops or frames do we use for our stitching--
Welll--
I tried all kinds of single hoops--plastic, wood, round, oval--
and I tried--
this style years ago--
but--
then I spent good money and bought this one--
and yes it does have a quilt  on it--
but--
it did not stay on it long--
nor did I quilt this one on it--
or any on it--though I tried and tried--

When Sue first opened her quilt shop--
one similar to this one was a big seller--
so I bought one--
my cats loved it--as soon as I got it on my lap--they crawled under it and took a nap on the base--
Ahhh--you can't quilt then--
and it just didn't work for me either--

so this is my hoop--
My hands--
I just need to gap it and hold on to it and away my needle flies!!!
and this is my story--soooo!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------
and now for this weeks report on time--

                                      Days stitched this week---7 days
                                     Days stitched this month--20 days
Total Days stitched this year--20 days
Total hours stitched this week--6.5 hours
Total hours stitched this year--15.75 hours--
And remember this is just for Hand Quilting totals--

So now I think all this work and reporting means--
it is time for--
some nice sweet dark chocolate--

I hope everyone had a great week--
and you all will have an even better one this coming week--
Just remember--
"there is always Chocolate"!!!

TIME FOR BLUES

I did get some 'Blue' sewing done this week--
My first projects for scraps this year is do some simple-
9-patches--
for 4 1/2" squares--
I got 8 done so far--

and then I took these leftover's from another project--
and cut them in half--
then sewed them together--
and then added a border to it--
the border piece was a scrap strip,too--
and today I finished it off--
into a little mat, or doll quilt-or???
and I forgot to take a photo--but the back is blue print too--

and then I remembered I had some small blocks that were in blues--
and I needed to finish them--
so these are now going to be pin cushions--
I just haven't stuffed them yet--
I need some fine walnut pieces first--
these will be gifts--so I now have a start on next years gifts for some give aways
during the year!!!
The embroidery letters are from 2 years ago
and the patchwork blocks are from a project last year!!
So some ufo's and orphan blocks-- have gotten marked off my list too!!!!

How are your Blues coming along????
